Jimmy Palmiotti

Jimmy Palmiotti, born August 14, 1961, is an American comic book writer and inker whose prolific output has stretched across nearly four decades and well over a thousand issues. He entered the industry in the late 1980s and built early momentum as an inker, developing a reputation for clean, confident line work that complemented a range of artistic styles. His versatility allowed him to cross into writing, and it is in that dual capacity that he has made his most lasting mark.

Palmiotti is perhaps best recognized for his long, character-defining run on Harley Quinn, which helped cement the antihero's popularity beyond her animated origins and introduced her to a new generation of readers. His work on the Western title Jonah Hex and its follow-up All Star Western similarly demonstrated a gift for genre storytelling, bringing gritty frontier atmosphere to mainstream superhero publishing. He also contributed significantly to street-level Marvel characters, with notable stints on The Punisher and Daredevil, as well as work on Catwoman for DC.
