The War That Time Forgot #2

Issue two of this twelve-part DC series plunges right back into prehistoric danger, and Brian Bolland's cover captures the chaos beautifully. A loincloth-clad warrior armed with a short blade and shield squares off against a towering, roaring tyrannosaur while a second figure is pinned helplessly beneath its taloned foot — with helmeted soldiers visible along a distant wall, hinting at a much larger conflict brewing just out of reach. Writer Bruce Jones and the art team of Al Barrionuevo and Jimmy Palmiotti promise a wild collision of eras in "Reconnoiter," and this cover makes the prehistoric stakes feel very, very real.
