Daredevil #14
From the Marvel Knights era of 2001, this issue of Daredevil — subtitled "Without Fear!" — carries the fifth chapter of "Parts of a Hole" by writer David Mack and artist Joe Quesada. The cover, penciled by Quesada and inked by Jimmy Palmiotti, thrusts a wild-haired, masked woman center stage: wide-eyed and intense, she crouches mid-motion amid swirling lines and billowing orange-and-grey smoke, a pistol gripped in one hand and feathers scattered around her. It's a kinetic, slightly unsettling image that makes clear this arc isn't resting easy on the Man Without Fear's usual territory.
