“Urban Renewal, Part Four: Bulletproof”

The penultimate chapter of this five-issue 2005 miniseries promises serious consequences, as the cover tagline "Old Enemies Die Hard!" sets a grim tone heading into the finale. Mike Zeck's pencils and Jerry Ordway's inks deliver a visceral scene: Deadshot in his red suit fires point-blank at a larger, snarling opponent who's swinging a heavy metal crate down at him — both figures caught mid-collision in a grimy industrial setting littered with debris and skulls. Writer Christos N. Gage and artist Steven Cummings bring "Urban Renewal, Part Four: Bulletproof" to a head with what looks to be one of the series' most brutally physical confrontations yet.
