Daredevil #12
Part of Marvel Knights' bold reinvention of the Man Without Fear, Daredevil #12 (2000) sports a striking cover by Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti that captures the Devil of Hell's Kitchen mid-acrobatic leap, billy club in hand, looming over a dark-clad female figure below him who appears to be falling or thrown — the whole composition crackles with kinetic energy against a spare, geometric background. The red-and-black color scheme and dynamic angles feel genuinely fresh, reflecting the creative energy that Quesada and Palmiotti (who also handle writing duties here alongside artist Rob Haynes) brought to this run. "Gun Play" promises exactly the kind of street-level tension that made this era of Daredevil so compelling.
