Fury #5

Issue five of Marvel MAX's Fury series finds Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson deep in the gritty, no-holds-barred territory that makes this mature-readers run so compelling. Bill Sienkiewicz's cover art is a beautifully chaotic wash of fire and smoke, with a lone figure clutching a weapon at the center of what looks like a devastating explosion, diagonal energy lines slashing across the composition to convey raw, kinetic violence. It's a fittingly intense visual for a chapter titled "On Your Guns" — unflinching, atmospheric, and exactly the kind of cover that stops you cold in the longbox.
