Judge Dredd #9
Few covers capture Dredd's iron authority quite like this one — the helmeted Judge stands tall, smoking gun raised, one boot planted firmly on a subdued, red-clad perp crumpled at his feet, while the declaration "I AM THE LAW" dominates the foreground in bold red letters. It's a striking composition by J. H. Williams III, rendered after Bolland's foundational visual language yet very much its own confident statement. This 1995 DC conclusion to the "48 Hours" two-day story, with interior work from Williams III alongside writer Andrew Helfer and the full creative team, promises a satisfying payoff to whatever brought Dredd to this decisive moment.
