We respect copyright and respond promptly to good-faith takedown requests. Last updated July 29, 2026.

Before you file

Two things resolve most concerns without a formal notice:

• Cover images are shown at display resolution for identification of the issue — a longstanding, settled catalog use. If you're a rights holder and want a specific image removed anyway, just email us; we honor those requests.
• Our reading room hosts only comics whose copyrights have lapsed (public domain), restored and remastered by us. Each title is vetted before publication. If you believe a specific work is not public domain, tell us which one and why — we'll review immediately and remove it while we check.

Filing a DMCA notice

Send notices to our designated agent: Copyright Agent, ComicBooks.com LLC, 390 NE 191st St, STE 77926, Miami, FL 33179 — [email protected] (subject line "DMCA"). A valid notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) includes:

• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
• The URL(s) on comicbooks.com of the material you want removed;
• Your contact information (name, address, email, phone);
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner;
• Your physical or electronic signature.

We review promptly, remove or disable access to material that a valid notice covers, and notify the user who posted it where applicable.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing: identification of the removed material and where it appeared, your contact information, a statement under penalty of perjury of your good-faith belief the removal was a mistake, consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district in which we may be found), and your signature. We'll forward it to the original complainant and, absent court action, may restore the material in 10–14 business days as the statute provides.

Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright.
