Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters #2

Issue two of this eight-part DC series from 2006 keeps the momentum of "Arresting America" going with a striking cover by Daniel Acuña. Uncle Sam himself dominates the image, parting his great coat like a curtain to reveal the Freedom Fighters assembled within — among them a green-glowing female figure, a luminous energy-wielding form, and dark-suited combatants caught mid-action. Writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray are clearly building something with real scope here, and Acuña's clean, confident linework makes this ensemble feel both grounded and genuinely compelling.
