The Punisher War Journal #25
Part one of "The Sicilian Saga," this December 1990 issue of Punisher War Journal opens with a striking Michael Golden cover that sets a genuinely unsettling tone — Frank Castle, skull emblem blazing on his chest and gun firing at his side, looms over a graveyard where bodies and toppled headstones are strewn across the ground, while the tagline "The Punisher's Family… Unearthed!" hangs in the air like a threat. The fiery orange sky and cemetery setting give the whole image a gothic, operatic weight that fits the Sicilian Saga's promise of something deeply personal for Frank. Writer Mike Baron kicks off what looks to be a three-part story that digs into the Punisher's past in ways that are hard to ignore.
