Deadpool #52

Deadpool finds himself in a precarious spot on this 2001 Marvel issue, crouched on the hood of a car while two identical blonde women in plaid skirts level pistols at him — a setup that perfectly captures the series' knack for mixing danger with absurdity. Amanda Conner's pencils and Jimmy Palmiotti's inks give the cover a slick, energetic feel that pulls you right in. With "Talk of the Town, Part 1 of 2" kicking off inside, written by Palmiotti and Buddy Scalera, there's clearly plenty of trouble brewing for the Merc with a Mouth.
