Part of DC's Milestone imprint, this 1996 issue finds Static — in his distinctive orange jacket and blue suit — in the middle of a tense outdoor confrontation, crackling electricity at the ready as a menacing figure bearing a staff looms from the shadows of the overgrowth. A young woman nearby watches with a telling heart floating above her head, hinting at the romantic undercurrent suggested by the story title "Sharon Loves Static." Shawn Martinbrough's cover pencils and inks give the scene a grounded, street-level energy that made Milestone's titles stand apart from the superhero pack.
