Dr. Phobos' new creation, Venus, joins the fight between the Gargoyles and Xanatos but, since she was created from the DNA of Goliath and Elisa, chooses to fight on the side of the good guys as she feels a special affinity for them. Demona gets her hands on the Medusa weapon and tries to use it to turn Goliath into stone. Venus, feeling that her new "mate" is being threatened, leaps in the way and takes the brunt of the blast. As the Gen-U-Tech island lab self destructs, the Gargoyles escape as both the Medusa weapon and the petrified form of Venus sink to the ocean floor.
