Deadpool #46

Deadpool #46 kicks off the "Cruel Summer" arc with a Joe Jusko cover that's hard to look away from — a striking dark-haired woman dominates the frame, armed with a large revolver and sporting a Deadpool tattoo on her shoulder that makes her allegiances (or obsessions) immediately intriguing. The painted, photo-realistic style Jusko brings to the image gives the whole thing a pulpy, sun-scorched tension that feels perfectly suited to a story with "cruel" in the title. With Jimmy Palmiotti writing and Paul Chadwick on interior art, this 2000 Marvel issue promises an interesting creative lineup behind that eye-catching exterior.
