“The New Labors of Hercules, Part Two”

The second installment of Marvel's five-part limited series finds Hercules face-to-face with a snarling, red-eyed Minotaur — the beast looming enormous and menacing as the muscular, golden-headbanded hero braces himself for the clash. What makes this cover especially striking is the camcorder viewfinder overlay framing the confrontation, suggesting these "New Labors of Hercules" are playing out very much in the modern age. Mark Texeira's painted linework gives both figures real physical weight, making this a compelling chapter to have in hand.
