Written by Ed Brubaker and illustrated with sharp precision by Paul Gulacy, with inks by Jimmy Palmiotti, colors by Laurie Kronenberg, and letters by Clem Robins, this 2004 issue captures Selina at a breaking point, with the cover by Gulacy and Palmiotti reflecting the storm brewing both outside and within.

Selina trains with Wildcat. She's determined to fight faster to keep up with Zeiss. Later, Slam is drinking in his apartment. He gets aggressive with Selina and says she's using him and isn't interested in him for long-term relationship material. Selina becomes mad and leaves Slam's place. As she leaves in the pouring rain, Zeiss is waiting for her outside.
