Fury: Peacemaker #2

The second chapter of this six-part Marvel Knights limited series puts a battle-hardened Nick Fury front and center — steel-helmeted, dog tags swinging, and wielding a machine gun amid a storm of flying bullets against a blood-red background that practically radiates heat. Mark Texeira's painted cover work gives Fury a raw, visceral presence, his bloodied face caught mid-shout as though the fight is already well underway. With Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson driving the story, Fury: Peacemaker has the feel of a no-nonsense war comic that takes its subject seriously.
