The scarred face of Jonah Hex looms large over this 2006 DC Western, his ruined visage and wide-brimmed hat framed by a sea of skulls while a rider charges forward on horseback below — all rendered in brooding sepia tones by cover artist Leonardo Manco. The title "Dia De Los Santos Reyes" hints at a story steeped in frontier atmosphere and dark tradition. With writing from Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray and interior art by Luke Ross, this series was already delivering the kind of gritty, uncompromising Western that fans of the bounty hunter had been craving.
