The finale of WildStorm's Friday the 13th series arrives with a cover by Ryan Sook that's genuinely unsettling: a young woman kneels among scattered skulls, clutching Jason's weathered hockey mask to her chest while an unmasked, snarling Jason looms behind her, machete raised against a fiery orange sky. The composition does something clever — putting his mask in her hands rather than on his face — creating a tension that's more dread than outright menace. With writing by Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti and interior art by Adam Archer and Peter Guzman, this 2007 issue wraps up a series that took the Camp Crystal Lake mythos seriously as horror storytelling.
