Scott Snyder was born on January 15, 1976, and before establishing himself in comics, made his mark in prose fiction with the 2006 short story collection *Voodoo Heart*. He transitioned into comic book writing around 2010, quickly finding a home at DC Comics where his distinctive blend of psychological horror and mythic storytelling proved a natural fit.

His most celebrated work remains his run on *Batman*, launched as part of DC's New 52 initiative in 2011, during which he co-created several enduring additions to the Batman mythos — the shadowy organization known as the Court of Owls, the unsettling villain Mr. Bloom, and the darkly compelling Batman Who Laughs. He also wrote *Detective Comics*, *Swamp Thing*, and *Justice League*, and helmed the company-wide crossover events "Dark Nights: Metal" and "Dark Nights: Death Metal." Among his most prolific credits are *Batman Eternal* and *Batman and Robin Eternal*.
