Batman Eternal #38 keeps the sprawling New 52 weekly series in high gear with a cover by Tommy Lee Edwards that packs in a striking array of figures: a looming, skull-like masked villain dominates the composition, while a determined Batman charges forward in the midground, surrounded by at least three other characters — a battered figure, a woman partially obscured in shadow, and a goggled face peering up from the lower corner.
