This haunting Vertigo cover from July 2014 splits the world in two: above the waterline, a lone motorcyclist rides beneath a warm, dusky sky, while below the surface, a vast and glowing creature — all writhing, electric tendrils — lurks in the deep beneath them, unseen and enormous. Rafael Albuquerque's image captures the series' tension beautifully, pairing open-road freedom with something ancient and terrifying coiled just out of sight. Scott Snyder's "Part Three" promises that the danger beneath the surface is every bit as real as the road ahead.
