Greg Capullo's cover for Batman #2 plunges readers straight into high-altitude chaos, depicting Batman in a breathtaking freefall above Gotham's rooftops, locked in a mid-air struggle with an armed, armored opponent. The vertiginous perspective — streets dizzyingly far below, smoke and debris swirling around them — makes the confrontation feel genuinely precarious rather than triumphant. Scott Snyder and Capullo's New 52 run was already generating serious excitement, and this second issue makes clear that the Dark Knight's Gotham is a place where danger comes at you from every angle.
