Mongul has captured the Justice League and forces them to fight for their lives on his new War Moon. Batman leads the League in turning the tables to defeat Mongul. Returning to Earth, they discover a mysterious mountain that has suddenly appeared in the middle of Gotham City. There they encounter the Blackhawks led by Kendra Saunders, who warns them of an ancient threat from the Dark Multiverse that was being investigated by Hawkman before he disappeared. Kendra warns the League that somehow Batman is the key to this threat.
