Absolute Batman #16

History

Absolute Batman launched in October 2024 as the flagship title of DC's Absolute Universe imprint, with Scott Snyder initially planning only a consulting role before writer James Tynion IV persuaded him to take the book himself; Snyder agreed on the condition that Nick Dragotta, best known for the Image series East of West, serve as artist. The two collaborated in person at Snyder's New York studio, an unusually hands-on creative process that both creators credit with shaping the book's distinctive energy and pacing. Issue #16 was written by Snyder with Dragotta serving as both writer and artist on interior pages (per the credited creative team), colored by Frank Martin and lettered by Clayton Cowles, under editors Sabrina Futch and Katie Kubert, and was published January 28, 2026 with a March 2026 cover date.
