Batman & Robin Eternal #3
This third volume of Batman & Robin Eternal collects the concluding chapters of the weekly series that served as a direct sequel to Batman Eternal. Following the aftermath of the Joker's death in the New 52 continuity, a new threat emerges from the past involving a mysterious figure known as Mother, forcing Batman, Robin, and a team of allies to unravel a conspiracy that ties into the history of several former Robins. The story features a rotating creative team and ties into the larger DC Universe events of the time.
Batman and Robin Eternal #3, published by Panini Deutschland in 2016, features a story titled "Nirgends ist's schöner als daheim" with writing by James Tynion IV, Scott Snyder, and Marc Schmitz, and art by Marcio Takara, who also handled inking, while Dean White provided coloring and Walproject the lettering. The issue includes Batman and Robin as the central characters. The cover was penciled by David Finch and inked by Scott Hanna.
In "Traumata," Jo confronts the past when she reveals that Batman once worked with the Scarecrow to defeat Mother. As Grayson, Bluebird, and Cassandra flee with Orphan in custody, the shadows of old alliances begin to blur, and the line between protector and predator grows thinner.
In "Wenn einem also Gutes wiederfährt...", years after Batman’s failed attempt to capture Mother and Orphan, Dick and Harper bring the enigmatic Orphan to Spyral headquarters, where he remains defiant—his cryptic words unraveling the weight of long-buried truths from a past that still echoes in the present.
In "Enthüllungen," Red Robin delivers a dangerous computer virus to Spyral, hoping to uncover its mind-control secrets—though time may already be running out. As tensions rise, Orphan confronts Bluebird with a painful truth: Cassandra was responsible for her mother’s death. Flashbacks reveal Mother’s final moments, fleeing Batman only to end her life with cyanide.
