This fifth chapter of Scott Snyder and Charles Soule's dystopian series delivers a striking cover by Giuseppe Camuncoli that captures the series' sense of overwhelming dread: a lone, bearded figure clutching a glowing object and wielding a battle-axe stands dwarfed beneath a towering, armor-clad giant whose bandage-wrapped limbs sprawl across the entire image. The contrast between the solitary human and that colossal red-armored presence says everything about the odds at play in this sealed-off America. Matt Wilson's muted crimson palette gives the whole composition a haunting, almost mythological weight that makes this one hard to pass up.
