Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque's Vertigo series continues with part two of "Death Race," and this cover sets a distinctly unsettling mid-century mood. A casually dressed young man leans against a vintage American car while the open trunk behind him reveals a pair of bloodied legs — the dark punchline to the retro ad-copy tagline "Roomy Trunk… for Any Kind of Luggage!" Albuquerque's clean linework and sun-bleached palette make the menace feel all the more chilling for how pleasantly ordinary everything looks.
