Batman #46

Part six of the "Superheavy" arc arrives with one of its most arresting covers yet — a bearded, unmasked man bound in jagged red thorns clutches a Batman cowl in his fist, the thorny tendrils coiling around both figures against a backdrop of shattered, jagged shards. Greg Capullo and Danny Miki's cover art crackles with tension, the thorns simultaneously imprisoning and connecting the man to the mask he holds. Scott Snyder's ongoing reinvention of the Batman mythos is clearly reaching a fever pitch by issue #46.
