Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Batman: Knightfall #1

Dec 2019 · DC · 5.99 USD
“Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Batman: Knightfall”

In *Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Batman: Knightfall* #1, writer Scott Snyder and Kyle Higgins dive into a grim alternate Gotham where Jean-Paul Valley, now Saint Batman, rules as a tyrant after defeating Bruce Wayne in a final, brutal clash. With Gotham severed from the world and Bruce imprisoned as a head and torso, his son Tourne and the warrior Shiva seek to overthrow Jean-Paul—but they’ll need the one man who knows the truth: the man who once was Batman. Javier Fernández’s striking art and Alex Guimarães’ moody colors bring this fractured world to life, while Lee Weeks’ cover captures the eerie, relentless gravity of a city under siege.

Tempus Fuginaut searches the Dark Multiverse for heroes who could help in an upcoming multiversal crisis. His search brings him to a world where after Bane broke Batman's back and Azrael took over as Batman, he defeated Bruce Wayne when he tried to reclaim the mantle of the Bat. Now 30 years later, Jean-Paul as Saint Batman rules over Gotham that has been cut off from the world. Tourne, the son of Bane, and Shiva plan to defeat Jean-Paul to free Gotham, but they need the help of Bruce Wayne, whom Azrael has kept alive as a head and torso only.
