Tim Seeley is an American comic book writer and artist who has built a prolific career across both mainstream superhero titles and creator-owned work since the early 2000s. Born in 1975, he entered the industry as an artist before expanding into writing, eventually becoming equally accomplished in both roles.
He is perhaps best recognized among mainstream readers for his work on DC Comics' Grayson and Nightwing, titles centered on Dick Grayson that earned him a devoted following. His contributions to Batman Eternal further cemented his place within DC's publishing landscape. Earlier in his career, Seeley worked on licensed properties including G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and G.I. Joe vs. Transformers, as well as New Exiles for Marvel.
Seeley's most distinctive contributions to the medium are arguably his creator-owned projects at Image Comics. He co-created Hack/Slash, a horror-inflected series following a survivor who hunts slasher villains, and Revival, a rural noir supernatural thriller — both of which showcased a sensibility that blends genre conventions with genuine character depth. Revival in particular drew strong critical attention for its atmospheric storytelling.
Across a catalog spanning more than 580 credited issues between 2000 and 2026, Seeley has worked as writer, artist, colorist, inker, and letterer — a versatility that reflects his deep, hands-on engagement with the craft of comics storytelling.
