“Come Together Part 1”

Cover artist Tim Seeley assembles a striking rogues' gallery on this first issue from Image's 2011 ongoing series — at the center stands Cassie Hack, bat in hand and collar at her throat, flanked by a skull-masked hooded figure, a hulking gas-masked brute, a creeping grotesque gnawing a bone, and a nervous blonde bystander caught in the middle. The lineup sets a tone that's equal parts horror homage and action-driven attitude, promising that writer Tim Seeley and artist Daniel Leister have a full, wild world to explore in "Come Together Part 1.

Cassie and Vlad are in Louisiana, hunting down a slasher who is killing people making out at the local lovers lane. Cassie sets a trap by using her best "sex" noises and the slasher falls for the bait. But it turns out that there are two slashers and they fight back by secreting acid. Meanwhile, Cat is hunting down the pumpkin faced killer who put her in a coma for thirteen years. She runs across Samhain walking in the woods--replete in his pumpkin mask.
