Green Lanterns #7
This volume collects Green Lanterns #41-50, continuing the story of rookie Lanterns Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz as they face a new threat involving the illegal trade of metahumans. The arc explores the darker corners of the DC Universe while testing the partnership and resolve of Earth's two Green Lanterns against a shadowy trafficking ring.
In "Superhuman Trafficking Part One," Green Lanterns #7 delivers a gripping mystery rooted in the everyday lives of lesser-known heroes. After aiding flood victims, Simon and Jessica dig into the sudden disappearance of Night Pilot—a former love interest of Simon's—only to uncover a troubling pattern among other obscure heroes, all connected by their use of the Caper app. Written by Tim Seeley and illustrated by Barnaby Bagenda, with inks by Mick Gray, colors by Ulises Arreola, and letters by Dave Sharpe, the issue’s tense atmosphere is perfectly captured in a cover by Will Conrad.
In "Superhuman Trafficking Part One," Simon and Jessica, still reeling from their recent rescue mission, turn their attention to the mysterious disappearance of Night Pilot—once a fleeting romance for Simon—after she vanishes following her use of the Caper app. As they dig deeper, they uncover a troubling pattern: a string of lesser-known heroes have vanished, all connected by their time on the same app.
In "Superhuman Trafficking Part Two," Simon and Jessica infiltrate the lawless underbelly of Garnet—known as Hellhole—posing as space criminals to track down leads on the missing super-heroes, guided by the enigmatic Scrapps through a web of dangerous contacts. The story unfolds with tense atmosphere and high stakes, as the duo navigates a world where trust is currency and survival depends on deception.
In "Superhuman Trafficking Part Three" from Green Lanterns #7, Simon, Jessica, and Scrapps plunge into the Order of the Steed’s stronghold to rescue a group of missing superheroes—only to discover the freed heroes are now under the command of High Rider Griva, who turns them against the Green Lanterns.
In "Superhuman Trafficking Part Four," Jessica races to dismantle the mind control devices enslaving her fellow heroes, while Simon faces off against the Durlan Priestess Glout. With High Rider Griva’s consciousness now inhabiting Night Pilot’s body, she turns her assault on Scrapps, escalating the chaos as the team fights to regain control.
In "The Lost Lantern," Simon and Jessica find themselves caught between duty and tradition as they join the Green Lantern Corps on Vaikea for a solemn ceremony honoring a long-lost hero. As they struggle to meet the planet’s exacting customs, Jessica uncovers a hidden danger that swiftly traps her, Simon, Hal, and John in a forgotten prison.
