A massive skeletal figure has Calvin Rose — Talon himself, clad in his armored suit with glowing eye lenses and razor-sharp talons — locked in a crushing, inescapable grip on Emanuel Simeoni's striking cover for this April 2014 New 52 installment. The tagline "There Is No Escape from Death!" says it all, setting a mood of desperate, bone-chilling peril before you even crack the spine. With Tim Seeley writing and Jorge Lucas on art, "Dead Man's Party" promises the kind of dark, visceral storytelling that has made this series a standout corner of the New 52.
