“The Last Stand Part Three”

From Image Comics' 2003 run of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, issue #24 brings "The Last Stand Part Three" to a head with a cover by Badeaux and Pepoy that crackles with urgency. A red-haired Joe operative armed with a pistol leads a scrambling group of soldiers across a chaotic scene, all shadowed by a looming tank bearing down from above. The sheer weight of that armored threat pressing over the fleeing team makes this one of the more visually gripping covers of the series' Image era.
