History

The series was announced in September 2024 and debuted on January 15, 2025, edited by Darren Shan. Writer Tim Seeley, whose credits include Hack/Slash, Revival, Grayson, and Nightwing, brought aboard artist Zulema Scotto Lavina — his collaborator from the Image Comics series Hexware — marking her debut at Marvel following her selection as the winning artist of Disneyland Paris's 2024 Marvel Art Atelier. Seeley described the assignment as 'a dream job,' approaching the story as a fusion of his own sensibilities with Claremont's foundational framework, while cover artist Kaare Andrews consciously styled his covers to echo the corner-box design conventions of Jim Lee's original early-1990s X-Men work. The collected edition, published through Penguin Random House / Marvel, credits both Seeley and Claremont, with reprints of the original Claremont-era Savage Land issues included as bonus material.
