G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers Comic Book, Vol. II #1

Sep 2004 · Devil's Due Publishing · 4.95 USD

In this crossover gem from 2004, a malfunctioning Cobra-built gate—powered by Cybertronian tech—rips open a rift between Earth and Cybertron, scattering GI Joe and Cobra operatives across the alien world. With Shockwave’s forces closing in and Transformers vanishing into the void, Ultra Magnus and Perceptor step in to protect the stranded humans, setting them on a desperate mission to alter time and recover the missing Autobots before Earth faces a catastrophic feedback loop. Written by Dan Jolley and brought to life by E. J. Su and Tim Seeley, with dynamic inks by Andrew Pepoy and vibrant colors by Jeremy Roberts, this issue blends high-octane action with a ticking-clock mystery. The cover, a striking collaboration by Su, Seeley, and Pepoy, captures the moment the rift tears open.

By using Cybertronian technology, Cobra builds a gate between Earth and Cybertron. During a skirmish with GI Joe, the gate is damaged, sending members of GI Joe and Cobra to Cybertron. Further feedback causes the gate to make several Transformers disappear. Ultra Magnus and Perceptor erect a forcefield to prevent Shockwave and his minions from accessing the gate or harming the humans. The Autobots reveal that the humans must travel back in time to retrieve the missing Transformers from Earth or further feedback will cause the reoccurring equivalent of a nuclear holocaust on Earth.
