“Double Teamed”

The cover of this July 2016 issue splits the world in two — a cool blue left side and a hot red right — with the Squad caught mid-chaos between them: a wide-eyed woman with colorful hair and a hulking armored figure dominate the foreground, while a chain of figures rappels or tumbles down the divide, including an armored soldier and a gun-toting combatant dangling from a line above. Juan Ferreyra's color work does real heavy lifting here, using that stark temperature contrast to suggest two colliding forces threatening to tear the team apart — which fits the story title "Double Teamed" rather perfectly. Tim Seeley and Ferreyra close out their run with a cover that's visually arresting without saying a word.
