The Authority #28

The Authority #28 brings together a sprawling cast of heroes and villains on a cover by Tim Seeley and Allen Martinez that feels genuinely alive — a silver-skinned figure crouches at center while a massive green powerhouse looms in the background, flanked by winged fighters, armored warriors, energy-wielding combatants, and heavily armed soldiers all pressing in from every side. The sheer density of characters against that blood-red backdrop makes this January 2011 WildStorm issue feel like a powder keg with the fuse already lit. With Tom Taylor and Adam Warren co-writing and Al Barrionuevo on art, "Fight and Flight" promises the kind of team-scale tension this series does so well.
