Dan Adkins

Dan Adkins was an American illustrator whose career spanned comic books and science-fiction magazines across several decades. Born Danny L. Adkins on March 15, 1937, he passed away on May 3, 2013.

Adkins built a substantial body of work that touched on some of the most recognizable titles in mainstream comics, with credits as artist, inker, colorist, and writer across hundreds of issues. His range was genuinely broad — from superhero fare like Superman, Detective Comics, and The Avengers to sword-and-sorcery material including Conan the Barbarian, as well as the spy-action anthology T.H.U.N.D.E.R.
