In "Prescription for Tragedy," Batman tracks a dangerous drug smuggling operation, unaware that the man behind the scheme is Man-Bat—driven not by malice, but by desperation to save his ailing daughter with a mysterious substance only the ring can provide. In "The Ghost of Wayne Mansion," Batman confronts the fractured mind of Kirk Langstrom as the Man-Bat, haunted by guilt and delusion, prowls the caves beneath Wayne Manor. With Dr. Thirteen's life hanging in the balance and Francine Langstrom's warnings about a failed serum echoing in his mind, Batman must navigate the twisted psyche of a man who believes he's lost everything—most of all his daughter.

In "Shadow Play," Bruce, Dick, and Alfred settle back into Wayne Manor, only to be met by Francine Langstrom demanding Bruce honor his promise to find and rescue Kirk. With the weight of that vow pressing on him, Batman ventures into the caves beneath the manor alongside young Rebecca, tracking the elusive Man-Bat—still haunted by the belief that his daughter is lost and convinced Batman is his foe.
