It reprints issues from the 1960s and 1970s, including their iconic first race in Superman #199 and later encounters that test their rivalry and friendship.
Superman and The Flash take on a globe-spanning race around the Earth, their incredible speeds turning the event into a high-stakes spectacle for the United Nations. As rival gambling syndicates try to manipulate the outcome, the two heroes must rely on each other—and their allies in the Justice League—to stay on course.
In "The Race to the End of the Universe!", Superman and Flash are thrust into a high-stakes cosmic challenge by the mysterious aliens Rokk and Sorban, who claim to have once crossed paths with the heroes. As the race pushes them to the limits of speed and strength, the two heroes begin to suspect the truth behind the aliens' identities—and must rely on each other to outwit traps and uncover the deception before it's too late.
In "Race to Save the Universe!", Superman and Flash [Barry Allen] are pitted against each other in a high-stakes race across time and space, summoned by the Guardians of the Universe to repair the chaos caused by the Anachronids—mysterious life-forms that move faster than light and disrupt the timeline. With the fate of reality hanging in the balance, the two speedsters must push their limits, navigating impossible physics and unexpected rifts, even as they're pulled into another dimension and return through a donut-shaped star to keep the race—and the universe—intact.
In "Race to Save Time," Superman and The Flash are thrust back into a battle with the Phantom Zone criminals when the Anachronids strike again, disrupting time itself. With the Guardians of the Universe watching and the fate of the timeline hanging in the balance, the two speedsters must outthink Kru-El, General Zod, and Jax-Ur before the Anachronids break the barrier between dimensions.
In "Chase to the End of Time!", Superman and The Flash are drawn into a high-stakes race across time as the warring alien factions the Volkir and the Zelkot clash on Earth, with Iylar, a Zelkot seeking to alter history, at the center of it all. With the fate of Earth and the timeline hanging in the balance, Barry Allen must outrun the past while Superman faces a desperate choice to stop Iylar—before the very existence of Krypton is erased.
In the 25th century, Superman and The Flash team up with the Legion of Super-Heroes to stop Iylar, a Zelkot seeking to prevent an ancient alien war—each hero driven by a different vision for Earth’s future. As they race across time, pursued by the vengeful Reverse-Flash, the stakes grow higher with every leap through history.
In "Speeding Bullets," a desperate race unfolds when Abra Kadabra unleashes a deadly scheme that rapidly ages Wally West, forcing Superman and Jay Garrick into a high-stakes chase across time and space. With each step bringing them closer to death, the only way to save Wally is to tag him first—but the victor will pay with their own life. As the speedsters push beyond their limits, Superman uncovers the truth behind the aging, revealing a hidden threat that only he and Wally can stop.
