Marvel's Supernatural Thrillers #2 (1973) brings H. G. Wells' world-famous thriller to four-color life, and Jim Steranko's cover makes an immediate, unsettling impression. The bandage-wrapped, goggled figure of the Invisible Man dominates the scene, tearing away his disguise in a crowded tavern while shocked onlookers reel back — his speech bubbles crackling with menace: "Well, now you know!!" It's a wonderfully atmospheric adaptation, with interior art by Val Mayerik and Dan Adkins giving the classic story a fittingly eerie Marvel treatment.
