In "The Lurker Within," Conan is hired by Lady Aztrias of Numalia to steal a mysterious bowl from the wealthy merchant Kallian—only to find the house empty and Kallian dead. When the city guard arrives and accuses Conan of murder, he must flee the city, pursued by a serpent-man that emerged from the bowl itself. As the deadly creature stalks him through the streets, Conan uncovers a vision of the ancient sorcerer Thoth-Amon, hinting at a deeper, darker conspiracy.

In "The Keepers of the Crypt," Conan ventures into the ruined city of Lanjau, where he battles a monstrous lizard and teams up with a nameless mercenary to claim its lost treasure. As they face the undead guardians of the crypt—felled only by sunlight—the earth itself turns against them, burying the city and their companion beneath the rubble. With the past behind him, Conan finds himself back in a nearby village, reuniting with Jenna, only to flee once more when soldiers close in, riding hard into the unknown on horseback.

In "The Garden of Fear," Conan and Jo find themselves in the shadow of a mountain tribe’s fortress, only for Jo to vanish into the night—snatched by a winged being said to be the last of a forgotten race. Trapped in a tower guarded by carnivorous blooms, Jo must survive the creature’s strange, ancient domain while Conan leads a charge of woolly mammoths up the cliffside, determined to reach her before the garden claims her.
