Cover artists Ron Lim and Dan Adkins put Conan front and center in a tense standoff, dual blades raised against a snarling, hulking were-beast that looms over him with claws outstretched — the subtitle "The Warrior and the Were-Beast!" says it all. Lurking in the shadows to the left, a blue-skinned, fanged creature adds another layer of threat to what's already a grim, cave-set confrontation. Michael Higgins scripts the tale "Deaths in the Family," and with Ron Lim and Dan Adkins on interior art as well, this July 1990 issue promises the same muscular storytelling energy on display right on its cover.
