The curtain comes down on Morbius the Living Vampire's run in Adventure Into Fear with this "thrill-fraught final issue," and Gil Kane and Dan Adkins deliver a fittingly dramatic send-off — a fanged, wild-eyed Morbius clutching an unconscious blonde woman against a blazing full moon, with bats swooping all around him in the December 1975 night. The bold banner "End of a Vampire!" makes clear that something definitive is at stake inside, while the cover's urgent energy — bats above, bats below, and Morbius at the center of it all — gives the issue a genuine sense of finality. Bill Mantlo scripts, with Frank Robbins on art and Vinnie Colletta inking, making this a worthy closer to one of Marvel's more atmospheric horror titles of the era.
