“Of Memories, Both Vicious and Haunting”

Luke Cage is in full fight mode on this September 1976 cover, trading blows with the massive, gorilla-like villain Mangler aboard what appears to be a crashing bus — shattered glass flying everywhere as panicked civilians scramble to escape. The cover copy makes the stakes clear: Cage and a busload of innocent people are trapped on a "One Way Ride to Revenge," with Cage defiantly declaring this is Mangler's last stop. Marie Severin's pencils and Dan Adkins's inks give the scene real kinetic energy, making this one of the more viscerally exciting installments of Power Man's mid-1970s run.
