Conan Saga #4
In the shadow of a dying volcano, Conan and Fafnir fight their way through the cursed streets of Bal-Sagoth, escaping the island’s fiery collapse as demons fall before them. Taken from the wreckage by the enigmatic Yezdigerd, their survival hangs on the edge of the storm-lashed sea—where the true horror may have only just begun.
In the shadow of a burning siege, Conan wages war for the Turanian army as they lay waste to the city of Makkalet, where whispers of the Living Tarim stir beneath the bloodstained streets. Amid the chaos, a deadly rivalry ignites between Conan and the enigmatic Balthaz, while a wounded Fafnir falls to a flaming arrow—his fate hanging in the smoke of battle.
In "Il Nero Mastino della Vendetta," Conan and Fafnir sail under Turan’s banner near the city of Makkalet, caught in a web of treachery and dark rituals. When Conan attempts to seize the living god Tarim from his temple, he is thwarted, forced to kill a fearsome black hound before escaping into the storm-tossed sea. Fafnir, wounded and betrayed, is cast overboard by the cruel Balthaz, who sees him as useless. Fueled by rage and vengeance, Conan turns on Balthaz and flees the ship, leaving behind a trail of blood and fury.
In the sun-scorched city of Makkalet, Conan finds himself trapped after defecting from the Turanian army, only to be ensnared by the very forces he sought to join. Betrayed and left to face the city’s dark secrets, he must battle a monstrous toad-god rising from ancient monoliths—its presence a terror older than memory.
In "L'Ombra dell'Avvoltoio," Conan journeys through treacherous lands carrying a vital message from Makkalet to Pah-Disha, where danger lurks at every turn. When Red Sonja intervenes to save him twice, their paths become entwined in a deadly game of betrayal and vengeance. As the hunt for Mikhal Oglu—the Vulture—reaches its climax, Conan must deliver a brutal reckoning to Yezdigerd.
In the sun-baked city of Makkalet, Red Sonja and Conan clash in a bar, their rivalry turning into a wild chase through fountains and temple walls. After stealing a cursed snake-tiara, they face a magical serpent, testing their wits and blades. When the dust settles, Sonja outsmarts Conan one last time—then vanishes into the desert, bound for Pah-Disha.
