T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #3
The issue features a dramatic confrontation between Dynamo and Menthor, with the cover teasing conflict between T.H.U.N.D.E.R.'s top agents. An informational feature explains the Thunderbelt's atomic-fusion-powered technology, detailing how it grants Dynamo superhuman strength and the ability to leap hundreds of feet, while warning of the energy drain and time limitations on its use. A separate story depicts underwater frogmen placing nuclear explosives at a naval facility as part of a plan to infiltrate U.S. defenses, which is ultimately thwarted by T.H.U.N.D.E.R. agents who prevent the sabotage and secure an emergency evacuation.
With the nation's capital under siege by armored invaders from the Subterranean World, Dynamo is dropped into Washington to fight back—only to be captured and stripped of his Thunderbelt when waves of relentless warriors overwhelm him. Now, stripped of his power and held prisoner by a ruthless council bent on destroying the city, Dynamo must find a way to turn the tide before the Subterraneans complete their conquest.
Noman tracks down the mysterious Vibraman, a brilliant sonic expert whose devastating vibratory powers have already leveled critical infrastructure and extracted ransom demands from the government. As the android agent pursues his quarry across continents to a hidden island lair, he discovers that Vibraman's blindness is no handicap—the villain can perceive through sound itself, making Noman's invisibility cloak useless. Trapped in a desperate final confrontation with dwindling android bodies and nowhere left to run, Noman must outthink a foe who commands weapons of pure sonic destruction.
When a mysterious figure known as the Red Dragon begins devastating Vietnesian forces, T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agent Dynamo is sent alongside courier Diana Dawn to investigate the threat. Dynamo must navigate treacherous terrain, uncover the truth behind the legend, and face off against an enemy who seems to possess near-supernatural power in "Dynamo and the Menace of the Red Dragon!" The fate of an entire nation rests on his shoulders—and his wits.
When T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Squad members go undercover as native fishermen on a remote island, they discover that missing locals are being transformed into gill-breathing underwater soldiers by a mysterious submarine force. As the team infiltrates an enemy underwater base, they uncover a sinister plot to cripple American missile defenses—and must race against time to stop it before the transformed fishermen can strike.
When Menthor uses his cybernetic helmet to hypnotize Dynamo into an unwitting instrument of destruction, the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. agent finds himself stripped of his power belt and fighting his own mind. As Menthor orchestrates a daring raid on T.H.U.N.D.E.R. headquarters, Dynamo must overcome the villain's overwhelming mental control to stop him—but the real question is whether he can trust his own will long enough to do it.
