DC Comics Presents #2
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeSuperman and the Flash face a deadly ultimatum on the cover of this 1978 team-up title: a green, pointy-eared alien clutching a strange golden device looms large as the two heroes burst through a crackling time-barrier, with Superman grimly warning that only one of them can give chase — and whichever one doesn't make it through will die. José Luis García-López and Dan Adkins deliver a cover that makes the stakes feel genuinely urgent, framing the Man of Steel and the Scarlet Speedster in a race against time itself. With 25 pages of story titled "Race to the End of Time!" and a full 44 all-new pages for just fifty cents, this is a prime example of DC's late-'70s team-up format firing on all cylinders.

Flash wants to make sure Iylar makes it through time, so that the Zelkot do not destroy Earth. Superman wants to ensure the war begins so that the Volkir visit Earth in the past and seed life on it. After a number of stops across time, Superman and Flash catch up to Iylar, stop him from preventing the war, and neutralize the aliens' threat against the Earth in the present.
